Update from Mr.Shillabeer
29 April 2022 (by Patricia Page (admin))
Dear Parents/ Carers,
What a wonderful first week back we have enjoyed! On Tuesday, the Year 3 children took part in their Activity Day and had so much fun, it was a pleasure to witness their teamwork and support. The children in Pine class have been making the most of their newly updated Forest School area, many thanks again for the PTA and all their hard work, we think it looks amazing! Today, children in Chestnut Class, in between all of their PE, Spellings and Music, took time to plant some wildflower seeds in the memorial garden. The children in KS2 have taken on new jobs and roles in their classes too, which they are undertaking with great pride and professionalism!
Many of your children may have come with an additional library book to read this week; this gives them an opportunity to access texts of further interest or difficulty, which they may not ordinarily select or have access to. Don't forget that they also have access to online texts through BugClub, so there really are plenty of opportunities to develop a love of reading!
Your children have had an incredible first week back and have so much to be proud of. In Collective Worship this week it was a pleasure to celebrate their successes together, as well as take the opportunity to thank Mr. Hogarth for his 17 years of service to the school as the caretaker. Sadly, he will be completing his final day with us today and we wish him all the very best of luck with his future plans. At the same time, we welcome Mr. Woodcock, who will be taking over the new role on Monday.
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend, look after yourselves and we look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday.
