School Update

16 May 2022 (by Patricia Page (admin))

Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying a huge well done to all of the Year 4 pupils who attended Charter House. They had such fun, worked so well together and surely made memories to treasure forever! I'd also like to extend a huge thank you to the staff who supported; Miss Nash, Mrs Lange, Mrs Bethell and Mr Robertson - whose boundless energy, enthusiasm and humour ensured the trip was a great success for all invovled. The rest of the school loved hearing about their adventures in Collective Worship today.

Last Friday, a group of Year 3 pupils entered the Cheddar Valley Tennis Tournament and represented the school terrifically, whilst enjoying some great weather and the opportunity to meet friends from across the WLT. Well done to them! On top of this, the Year 3s will be visiting Hugh Sexeys later this week, to take part in a multi-skills festival too - good luck to them.

Elsewhere, the children have been busy in their classrooms exploring the Whole School Text, Flotsam.
This wonderful picture book allows the children to explore and experiment in such a creative way; through artwork, through questioning, through roleplay and through class discussions. Watch the video below and explore the story together at home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MTKWnxzqvM

Looking ahead, we will be attending church on Friday, where we will welcome our new Reverend, Alistair Forster. There will be tea and coffee served from 8:45am onwards. We hope that you can make it! Finally, we have a film night on Wednesday 25th and on Friday 27th the whole school will be holding a celebration of the Queen's Jubilee up on the furlong. A busy last two weeks of term!

Best wishes
Mr Shillabeer
