Welcome Back - September 2022

4 September 2022 (by Patricia Page (admin))

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to school tomorrow, where gates will be open at 8:50am. We hope that you all had a wonderful summer and that you are looking forward to the autumn term. In the meantime, I have a few quick updates that may help:

- Roadworks on Moorland Street are ongoing, with three-way traffic lights in place. This is likely to cause severe disruption to pick up and drop-off. You may want to consider using the Old Church Road Car Park or sharing lifts to reduce the number of cars accessing the site.

- For children in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4, if you plan to use the hot meal service at school, please don't forget to order meals through Aspens. Children in Reception year are not staying for lunch this week and will be provided with login information for accessing the school hot meal service.

- This week, PE will take place on Friday for all children in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4. Children will need to come to school in their PE kit and this will continue for the year. Class teachers will be sending out a letter later this week, notifying you of further PE sessions. Can I at this point, please remind you of the school PE kit guidance - https://www.axbridgefirstschool.co.uk/parents/school-uniform

- We have a new scheme of 'Rhino Reading' books being introduced this year, with children taking these new books home from Wednesday onwards.

- If your child has any new medication or a new inhaler, please visit the school office and complete the medical form, needed to administer the medication.

- The Government provide 'Fruit and Snack' for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. It is free and made available in the school for your child. Should your child not want the school 'Fruit or Snack', you are encouraged to send in a piece of fruit or vegetable for them to eat during the morning session. Please note, children in Year 3 and 4 are expected to bring in their own fruit/vegetables for snack time.

As always, our gates open in the afternoon at 3:10pm, for a 3:20pm end to the school day. Many thanks in advance for your continued support this year, we are blessed to work in such a caring, kind and friendly community.
